TYPES OF ENTRYWAY SETS

Single Entryway Door Single Entryway Door: Single entryway doors consist of a single entryway set. These sets come standard with two door plates, two knobs or levers, modern tubular style latch, face and strike plates, deadbolt and thumb turn and associated hardware. Vintage style mortise latches are available upon request.
Double Dummy Style Knobs Double Entryway Door: Double entryway doors consist of a single entryway set and a double dummy set (for the non latching door). These sets come standard with two door plates, two knobs or levers, one modern tubular style latch, face and strike plates, deadbolt and thumb turn and associated hardware. Vintage style mortise latches are available upon request.
Distance Between Knob and Deadbolt Deadbolt & Knob Spacing: Entryway sets that use a single large door plate have an additional measurement - the distance from the center of the doorknob to the center of the deadbolt (shown by the black lines in the photograph to the left). This distance is typically 5 1/2 inches but other variations and measurements exist.
Backset Backset: Measurement from the center of the doorknob (left red line) to the edge of the door (right red line) - the Backset is a measurement of how far 'back' the doorknob 'sets' from the edge of the door. Interior doors are most commonly 2 3/8 inches.
Backset Latch Mechanism: This is a mechanical device that holds a door closed until the knob is turned. Modern doors use a tubular latch (as shown) and it may also house the lock mechanism.

Finishes Available: Many Entryway Sets Are Available in Polished Brass, Antique Brass, Satin Brass, Polished Chrome, Polished Nickel, Brushed Nickel, Oil Rubbed Bronze, Antique Copper, Verdigris, Venetian Bronze, Weathered Rust and Flat Black.
