Lost Wax Cast 11 1/2 Inch Tall Brass Push Plate Goddess at Night - measures 11 1 /2 Inches tall and 3 1/2 Inches Wide. This is from an original 1930's Chicago design. There is also a matching 'Goddess at Day' plate. The lost-wax casting process, sometimes known by the French name of cire perdue is an ancient practice that is still used for artwork today and it is used to preserve the fine details of the original highly-detailed components. These are also available in Cast Iron (Sand Cast) - but much of the detail is lost in Sand Cast components.
